Planning and interior design for a boutique hospitality investment abroad

Set on a two-acre plot on the outskirts of a larger French town, this boutique hotel project transforms a former school house into a refined hospitality destination with quiet character and a strong sense of place.

Commissioned by a Swiss family office, the project was developed as an investment property abroad, with our studio entrusted to shape the concept, spatial planning and interior direction. The design preserves the dignity of the existing architecture while giving it a new, elegant identity suited to contemporary boutique hospitality.

Generous windows, high ceilings, classical mouldings and arched openings form the architectural backdrop for a calm and sophisticated interior language. Deep green walls, white panelling, herringbone timber floors, soft linen curtains and warm brass details create a layered atmosphere — timeless, welcoming and quietly luxurious.

The former institutional character of the building was softened through carefully considered materials, intimate lighting, tailored guest rooms and inviting shared areas. From the breakfast room opening towards the garden to the serene bathrooms and calm corridors, each space was designed to feel personal, balanced and memorable.

A hotel concept rooted in French architectural heritage, reimagined with Swiss precision and understated elegance — created for guests who value comfort, atmosphere and a refined sense of arrival.
